About me

Erwin Aguirre-Villalobos is a visual artist who connects the vastness of the human emotional universe with his visual work, creating a bridge between the migrant existence and the stories hidden in our subconscious. His creative expression began in childhood, when images, illustrations, and symbols became his language to vent what his inner self dictated. Today, his art, nurtured by years of evolution, becomes a creative ritual that explores the past, the present, and parallel realities.

Erwin has taken his work to multiple corners of the world: from prestigious museums such as MACZUL in Venezuela and Museo Marco in Argentina, to galleries and exhibitions in the U.S., Europe, Chile, and his native Venezuela. Each piece is a migrant journey, a character who travels the world seeking to reconnect with smells, textures, and memories, rooted in mythological stories and beliefs.

His paintings transport us to dimensions where the subjects—whether wandering homes or spiritual beings—are intertwined with layers of acrylic, mandalas, and mixed media. These elements reflect his unique ability to capture the intangible: the nostalgia for what's left behind and the longing for an uncertain future, all while navigating distant galaxies, guided by ancient symbols.

Erwin is a visual storyteller who documents his processes from sketch to final execution, using pencil, acrylics, and digital tools, allowing him to refine each motif that emerges in his paintings. His art is a testament to the fact that migration is not only physical but also spiritual, emotional, and existential.
